This Little Harbor 58 was gifted to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzard’s Bay, Massachusetts. Callisto was a beautiful boat but had issues with steering, and all the hydraulics to operate the buckets were external, creating an issue with corrosion and making adjustments impossible unless it was dry-docked. Chuck Fontaine, head of the donation program at the time, asked us to install a joystick control system and make whatever modifications necessary to increase the boat’s value, which they planned to sell. Tom, our chief engineer, made new hydraulic packs for each jet and for steering. We installed the Control Stick™ which now allowed the boat to perform flawlessly! It was promptly sold and the new owner transported it to Thunder Beach, Ontario, a small community on Lake Huron.
